Every Day is Drug Take Back Day!
Every Day is Drug Take Back Day!
Snohomish Health District & Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office
Thanks to a partnership with MED-Project, a pharmaceutical stewardship program, now every day is Drug Take Back Day in Snohomish County. MED-Project has installed more than 65 kiosks within a 25 mile radius of downtown Everett at area pharmacies and police stations for unwanted prescription drug and medicine disposal.
Sultan resident Beverly recently stopped by the kiosk at the Sheriff’s Office East Precinct in Sultan to drop off her husband’s expired and unused prescriptions.
Secure medicine disposal is just one strategy to help prevent prescription drug and over-the-counter medication abuse – and is an important step in combatting the opioid epidemic. Unused medicines can pose a serious risk to our families, communities and the environment. To prevent misuse, medicines should be stored safely in the home, and properly disposed when no longer needed. Throwing medicines away in the trash or flushing them down the toilet are not safe or appropriate disposal practices.
